Prem Prakash has varied knowledge and experience in the field of Gems and Jewellery . He is an alumni of GIA , from where he has done all the courses related to Gemology like 'Graduate Gemologist ' , 'Accredited Jewelry Professional' , 'Graduate Pearls', 'Advance Gemology' , 'Identifying Synthetic Diamonds' , ' Small Diamond Assortment Program'. He has been a senior faculty of Gemology in IGI ( IndianGemlogical Institute , an institute sponsored by Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Government of India ) for more than seven years . He has also been on the panel of BIMTECH ( Birla Institute of Management and Technology , Noida ) from where he has conducted classes on Gem Identification , Diamonds and Diamond Grading . He was also appointed as a faculty member of Gemology in NIJDT ( a part of DSIIDC , Government of Delhi ) in 2006.
Besides teaching and being a panelist in these premier Institutes , he was also entrusted the task of planning , programming and conduct of classes , examinations in the specialized field of gemology . He has been an advisor for procuring of equipment , machinery and technical stores relating to gemology in various Gemological Institutes , and before the inception of IIGS he was working as Head of the Department - Gemology at Indian Institute of Gems and Jewelry , Delhi ( IIGJ-D ) an Institute sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and Industries , Govt. of India . Now he is doing research work in treatment detection and source identification of precious gemstones. |
